How to use the X (Twitter) Comment Generator

  1. 1Paste the post you want to reply to. Include the thread above it if the context matters.
  2. 2Pick a tone: Supportive, Curious, Funny, Thoughtful or Expert.
  3. 3Add your take in "Your angle", such as a number, an example or the point you disagree with.
  4. 4Click Generate comments and choose one of the six replies.
  5. 5Edit it, check the length, and post the reply on X yourself.

What a good Twitter comment does

On X, a reply is a post of its own. It appears under the post you answered and, marked "Replying to", on your own profile (X Help). On a public account, anyone reading the conversation can see it. That makes replies one of the best ways to meet new people on X, and one of the easiest ways to look like a bot.

A good Twitter comment adds something the original post didn't have: a number, an example, a counterpoint or a sharp question. "This 🔥" and "so true" get skipped. This generator writes replies that respond to the specific post you paste, so you start from something with substance and edit from there.

Reply styles you can generate

Each tone produces a different kind of reply. Generate a few rounds and keep the one that matches what you actually think.

Add a data point or example (Expert)

Best under posts about your field. Use "Your angle" to give the generator your real number or experience, like "we saw the same thing when we cut our pricing page to one plan".

Ask the author something (Curious)

A specific question is the reply authors answer most. Ask about the step they glossed over or what they would do differently.

A one-liner (Funny)

Short, friendly jokes that play off the post. X rewards wit, but read the room. A joke under someone's bad news ages badly.

Disagree politely (Thoughtful)

State the point you disagree with, why, and leave room for the author to respond. Calm disagreement often starts the best threads on X.

Back someone's launch (Supportive)

When a friend ships something, a reply that names what you like about it does more than a like. Mention a feature, a line from their post, or who it will help.

Fit the reply to X's limits

Replies follow the same limits as posts. Most accounts get 280 characters per reply (X developer docs). X Premium subscribers can write longer posts, up to 25,000 characters, and can write them as replies and quotes too (X Help). This tool keeps every suggestion under 280 so it works on any account.

X counts characters with weights: a link always counts as 23 characters, every emoji counts as 2, and Chinese, Japanese and Korean characters count as 2 each (X developer docs). If you add a link or a string of emoji while editing, paste your final reply into the X character counter to check it the way X will.

Reply like a person, not a bot

X is strict about automated and repetitive replies. Its automation rules say automated replies are only allowed when the person opted in first, for example by replying to your post or sending you a Direct Message. They name sending automated replies to posts found through keyword searches alone as not permitted, and they ban posting duplicative or substantially similar posts on one account or across accounts you operate.

The safe way to use AI for replies is the way this tool works: it writes, you decide.

  • Reply to posts you actually read, one at a time.
  • Edit each reply. Never paste the same text under many posts.
  • Keep links out of cold replies to strangers.
  • If you're replying about your own product, say it's yours.
  • Don't reply to every large account in your niche within the same minute. It looks exactly like what it is.

Who it helps

  • Founders and builders who want to show up in conversations about their space without pitching.
  • Creators growing an account through replies to bigger accounts in their niche.
  • Brand accounts that answer customer posts and need a consistent tone.
  • Writers who know what they think but take too long to phrase it in 280 characters.

Schedule your own X posts with ViralFarm

Replies get you noticed; your own posts are what people see when they click through to your profile. ViralFarm schedules posts to X along with TikTok, Instagram, Pinterest, LinkedIn, Threads, Facebook and YouTube, with a separate caption for each channel when you need one.

If your account has X Premium, ViralFarm can publish long posts too. When you write an X caption in ViralFarm, it counts characters with X's weighting, so a post that fits in ViralFarm fits on X.

Frequently asked questions

Is the X comment generator free?

Yes. Use it on this page without an account, within a daily limit per visitor.

Does it reply on X for me?

No. It only writes suggestions. You copy one, edit it, and post the reply from your own account.

Can it write replies longer than 280 characters?

No. Every suggestion stays under 280 characters so it works on any account. If you have X Premium you can expand a reply yourself; Premium posts, including replies, can run up to 25,000 characters.

Will my replies get flagged as AI?

X acts on behavior: automated posting, repeated text, and mass replies to strangers. A specific reply you edited and posted by hand is a normal reply. Running generated replies at volume is what gets accounts limited or suspended.

Can I use it for quote posts?

Yes. Paste the post you want to quote and use a suggestion as your commentary. Quote posts follow the same character limits as other posts.

How do I check the exact length of my reply?

Paste the final text into the free X character counter on this site. It counts the way X does, with links as 23 characters and emoji as 2.

What should I put in the "Your angle" box?

The one thing only you can add: a number from your own work, an example, or the exact point you agree or disagree with. The generator builds every reply around it, which is what keeps them from sounding generic.

Is it better to reply to big accounts or small ones?

Both, for different reasons. Replies under large accounts are seen by more people but compete with hundreds of others, so only a sharp reply stands out. Replies to smaller accounts in your niche are more likely to get an answer and turn into a real connection.
